The myth recounts that in the remote past, the Apache ‎people used to steal cattle from the white man. When the ‎whites had enough of the stealing, they decided to set an ‎
ambush to catch the people of the Apache tribe. The next ‎time the Apache people stole cattle, they followed them to ‎their temporary camp where they attacked and killed several ‎of them. The remainder of the tribe preferred to commit ‎suicide rather than be killed by the white man. They jumped ‎off the high cliff to their death. The Apache women sat near ‎the cliff where they had jumped and‏ ‏cried for many days. ‎
The myth recounts that their tears turned into stones, the ‎Apache-stones. The weeping and their anguish were ‎absorbed in the stones and thus this stone may help console ‎through periods of anguish and pain of loss therefore ‎recommended for people who have lost someone close. ‎Helps comprehend situations in a realistic form. Provides an ‎attitude of forgiveness.‎
Provides protection, mostly from one own self: thoughts and ‎feeling that heart us. Feelings of guilt and self sorrow. ‎
Helps forgiveness to one self as well as others. Therefore ‎helps in times of grief.‎

May help rid of snake venom and eases the effect of stings ‎and burns. When needed, place on the spot of the sting. ‎Eases allergic conditions.‎
